Innovation in Construction event organized by StadAntwerpen and AG Vespa in Antwerp, Belgium, 2026.
We asked the CEO and Founder of Enperas, Luc Plancke, for his takeaways and views after participating in the Innovation in Construction event organized by StadAntwerpen and AG Vespa, called: ❝Real Estate Connect in den Bell❞

This includes tackling the acute housing shortage and how Ringstad offers the opportunity to connect the city center with its outer belt.
Myriam Heuvelman, Managing Director at AG Vespa mentioned that she manages more than 1,000 properties, many of which have reached the end-of-life stage or are in urgent need of a complete renovation.
Next, Kitty Haine, Regional Expert for the Ring at AG Vespa Antwerp, proposed Ringstad as an opportunity to connect the city center with its outer belt. It will become Antwerp’s 11th district, with over 1 million m² of floor space and approximately 6,000 homes, accounting for one-third of the estimated housing shortage in 2042.
Els Broods, Account Manager, Antwerp District Heating Network at Fluvius explained Antwerp’s district heating networks as the spearhead for climate neutrality by 2050. With this, the city aims to reduce its carbon footprint by 71,000 tons of CO₂ per year.
Caroline Deiteren, Director-General of Embuild Flanders concluded with a presentation on the strong growth of modular and off-site construction.
Thank you to Embuild Vlaanderen and the representatives from Embuild - The Belgian Construction Association for their shared insights through their interesting presentation topics.
