Futurebuild Belgium offered a sustainable view of the construction sector’s future
Futurebuild Belgium took place on January 27, 2026, in Brussels Expo, Belgium. The exhibition offered a sustainable view of the construction sector’s future. During Futurebuild Belgium, professionals from across the construction and real estate chain came together: architects, traders, contractors, engineers, policymakers and real estate professionals shared their visions, experiences and insights.
The future of the built environment was on display, with manufacturers and suppliers presenting the most innovative technologies.
For two days, it brought the entire construction and real estate chain together around innovation, collaboration and the path toward a climate‑neutral built environment.
The event focused on the most sustainable innovations and solutions in the construction industry. The two‑day networking event hosted 140 exhibitors, a start‑up zone, an Innovation Corner and an Academy Campus, and served as a hub of objective information for professionals through inspiring seminars, debates, content sessions and more.
Net zero by 2050
The challenge in the construction sector remained significant: achieving net zero by 2050. Futurebuild Belgium provided the premier networking and knowledge platform to work toward that shared goal. Project developers, architects, engineers, design firms, building material dealers, contractors and manufacturers met to share knowledge and forge connections.
Sessions led by keynote speakers, in the form of debates, workshops and seminars, addressed the sector’s most urgent issues. With a strong focus on sustainability and reaching net zero by 2050, these sessions delivered valuable insights and practical solutions. Exhibitors showcased a diverse range of offerings across the sustainability spectrum: innovative circular and bio‑based building materials, high‑tech digital tools, retrofit and off‑site solutions, all pointing to the future of the construction sector.
Enperas’ participation in Futurebuild Belgium
Enperas offers a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Quadrant Tool (Software as a Service, SaaS) and LCA consultancy to simplify the LCA market in Europe and create Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for manufacturers of building materials and chemicals.
Consequently, Enperas CEO and founder, Luc Plancke, participated in the Futurebuild Belgium exhibition. He showcased Enperas’ LCA software that calculates the environmental footprint of building materials and supports informed decision‑making in manufacturing industries, and said this approach represented the Futurebuild vision for a sustainable tomorrow in Belgium, across the EU and internationally. Luc shared the following reflections:
“It was an inspiring day at Futurebuild Belgium, the exhibition focused on a sustainable, innovative and circular built environment. I caught up with some former Gyproc colleagues - thanks to Frank Van Zeebroeck and Els Moeyersons for welcoming me on Coeck nv’s booth, and to Tamara Van Osselaer on Tremco CPG Inc.’s booth. Limburg’s finest start‑up scene was represented by Caroline Gysels; SCOPR.AI was named best start‑up.
Werner de Bresser gave an engaging product presentation on Yuco’s stone strips. I enjoyed seeing some of our joint LCA products at Nelissen Steenfabrieken.
The first EPDs published by Enperas
Enperas customers Soudal, COMPAKTUNA® and Cantillana demonstrated their low‑impact products, and I spoke with Isabel Dierickx from CCB Inc. about their EPD roadmap.
Last but not least, we celebrated Thermogran’s 4th birthday with Kim Strauven on Isola Floor & Energy Solutions’ booth. Thermogran had combined innovation, circularity and sustainability into one, this is how the future should be built. It also featured one of the first EPDs published by Enperas.”
