Where can you find cash in your environmental footprint ?
Quadrant calculates the Environmetal impacts and theEnergy & Mass flows of a product. That data becomes more interesting when we assign its related costs.
When we assign an average 50 €/MWh to the renewable and non-renewable primary energy we can identify the energy cost over a products full life cycle.
With the Global Warming Potential we can assign Carbon taxes. ETS I has been implemented for installations >20MW, since 20 yeras. CBAM has been implemented in 2026 on imports of cement, steel, aluminium, fertilisers, hydrogen and electricity. For january 2028 ETS II has been announced on all for all fuel combustion! When we assign 75 €/ton CO2 to these emissions, Quadrant can estimate that impact on the products price waterfall.
Here's how it works in Quadrant:
- Open your LCA report
- Click through to the CO2 & Energy pricing tab
- Assess the impact of the energy cost through your product life cycle
- Toggle on ETS I and or CBAM, or ETS II to estimate all CO2 emitted cost
- Adapt your products price
- Run simulations with a higher Energy or CO2 costs
